Does Outlook cost too much? Or it is too heavy weighted? Look no further. Get this PIM for free – EssentialPIM. It provides two version – Full version which installs to your machine, and USB version which can install to your USB flash drive :)
If you are switching from Outlook. It allows you to automatically import existing data from Outlook, Windows Address Book and CSV. Main feature includes:
Tasks- good looking scheduler. Versatile and easy to use day, week and month schedules.
To-Do- powerful tool to keep of all your to-do tasks in shape. Reminder, search, sorting, printing- all at your fingertips.
Notes- quick, simple and yet powerful outliner with tree-like information representation.
Contacts- all one would ever need about contacts management. Search, sort, add customs fields, print.
Get information wherever you need to. Print out or Save to HTML, RTF, CSV or TXT. Real information on the Go.
It is still simple but yet because of this it runs very fast and can be ran in USB drive. The GUI is pretty usable with pretty good icons and layouts. The EPIM Today section has hyperlink to link to Schedule page and Todo page which is pretty handy. Notes can be formatted and they can be structured and organized in tree form which is pretty good. It supports changing translation on-the-fly which suits international users. Some of the translations seem broken to me at the moment. Finally you can import from Outlook and CSV, and export to HTML, RTF, CSV, TXT and Outlook. No support on PDA yet.
Lifehack.org gives it 4 stars out of 5 stars.
