Create a 10 day survival pack for your vehicle for $25
Backwoods Home has written up an extremely thorough tutorial demonstrating how to create your own 10 day survival pack for under $25. I have been a stickler for having a survival/emergency kit in my car for many years. I think many of the ideas presented at Backwoods Home are extremely important. The survival guide covers the following topics:
- Keep you warm and safe
- Finding supplies
- Drinking water supply
- Food and drink mixes
- Heating foods and drinks
- Non-food items needed
Are there any supplies not mentioned in the guide that you would include? Please let us know in the comments.

We’ve had hotels for 3000 years, chances are you will find one.

yes, but the guy who thought to buy a gun is going to take your little preparedness kit to make sure his family survives

Hey this is great. I thought it was going to be all pay for this kit, but it was just useful information.

A couple of candles will keep a little heat inside a car without running the engine.

This is a worthless blog post. This post doesn’t contain any information about the survival pack, and DOESN’T EVEN PROVIDE A LINK to the relevant article.
WTF?

Whoa, island, calm down… the link is right there, at the bottom of the write-up, just above the Google adsense stuff.

100 cans of beer, 20 packs of cigarettes, iPod full of music and pile of porn mags would do a better job… On the second hand, maybe I’d just take my cell-phone with me, and call 911 to send a helicopter.

OMG why post this garbage on digg?

The article is not about survival in emergency situations, but rather comfort in inconvenient situations. It is a camping kit.
You do not need hot food to survive. You likely do not need any food to survive for 10 days, although it will help to keep your body warm in cold temperatures.
You do not need TP to survive. You do not need toothpaste or a razor to survive.
What is the point of this article?

The image you posted wasn’t even a survival kit.
