Bootstrapping a Viral Startup

Jordan Rule wrote a great article on entrepreneurship and bootstrapping a viral startup. What does it mean? It means to use the minimal (near to none) cost to develop a startup. Jordan provided several good points:

  • Venture should build around community, not technology: Community Trumps Technology.
  • Viral marketing by using user to spread the word are effective as traditional marketing, if your product are people focused.
  • Individuals count. If they are happy, they are your product’s evangelists.

I can see a pattern here – these points could be generalized as: Product should focus and build on individuals need, not technology.. What do you think?
