Stepcase Lifehack readers and other lifehackers, we are reaching out to hear what types of applications you guys would like to see on your iPhone. Think of it as your dream iPhone app. In the past, Stepcase Apps were developed based solely on our team needs. However, as we continue our development of mobile apps for the iPhone, we’d like to get our readers involved and see what kind of business, productivity or utility applications you’d like to see on their iPhone.
If you’d like to share your thoughts on how you want to be more productive from your mobile, we’d like to hear to about it. Feel free to leave your comments below.
Stepcase Lifehack blog and Stepcase Apps are both operated by the Stepcase.

I would just like some folders to put the apps in. Thats my simple dream at the moment!
‘Bento’ -is my dream app. – Its great for creating to do lists and keeping organising client information while on the move. Its also got a feature for organising membership lists – thats neat for any type of list you may have.
Medical data organizer that would sync with calendar and to-do. I can give details but basically, it would allow me to enter my prescriptions, lab test results, appointments, health events. It would support reminders (get lab tests for next week’s annual appointment with endocrinologist). You could look at it by date, separate out appointments, immunization history. You could look at your numbers (e.g. cholesterol) over time.
Kind of like Gas Buddy for the person.
Killer app would be to share data between this and a matching desktop app (like Things and SplashShopper do); or export to Excel.
i would love to know if any of the people i ‘know’ through social networking sites like facebook and twitter are within, say, 100 yards of me. and be able to either reach out to them, or depending on who it is/the situation, hide from them.
oooooh…and i would like to name a specific food i want to eat and be told exactly where i can get it within a range of miles, and b able to see reviews of each place listed. perfect for pregnancy!
ooooooh! and a fashion police app so you could take pictures of people, apply a black bar to their poor little faces and then share with others who like to play the game!
oooooh! ummm. maybe i should stop now.
Can’t tell you about iPod Apps but wish there was a Quicken App for Android.
A good and simple CRM that could be sync with Outlook and other major e-mail and contact applications.
It should also automatically journal all phone, sms and mail contacts, as well as specific history notes, so it would be easy to review a customer relationship history.
If could also label files in the iphone as well as PC / Mac with customer contact and review them later would be a plus. We could define customized fields as well and develop workflows for entering data.
Palm OS emulator.
I know I’m talking like a crazy man, but I’d looooove an app that’ll let you make a phone call reliably.
I’ve heard rumors regarding a Blood Glucose meter using the iPhone. I’d really like to have and use such a device that would also allow me to trac my daily caloric intake and help me track and manage the daily aspects of my diabetes. What would be the absolute greatest app (the non-lite version) would be the ability to collect my blood glucose without having to stab one of my fingers with a needle numerous times per day. The iPhone could be an ultimate tool in the data management of diabetes. There’s gotta be a better way. My fingers will say Thank you!
I would like to see a webmasters app that allows me to view Google analytics, adsense, adwords and webmaster tools data, aswell as the ability to view bit.ly info (number of clicks ect.), and page rank details, who is lookup, domain availability checker and buyer. (all whilst making me a drink). Can it be done?
I would love a weight tracking application that does just that; no calorie counting, exercise tracking, etc…
Just weight, and body fat %.
The big plus is how the data is shown:
A graph that shows both overlaid or just one.
Pinch and zoom into a date range.
Allow modifications (corrections) of historical data.
Icings on the cake would be:
1. Allow data to be brought in/out via csf or a spreadsheet.
2. Overlaying historic date ranges (like Google Analytics.)
3. Showing an optional trend line
Closest APP I have that does it now is “Lose It!” but it “does too much” and for the weight tracking part it “does too little” for viewing the data.
I would like the functionality of Google voice search avialable with the amazon.com app, then I would like an app for browsing Ikea in English that works the same way.
What about a to do list like Remember the Milk but adding a Pomodoro timer? Even better would be if it could run in the background some how so I could listen to Itunes and still get pom timer notifications.
A searchable book database that you could sort by author, title, genre. Would need to be able to import this data from other sources. Bookbag for the Palm has most of the features, but they don’t seem to be in any hurry to get a Palm version out. Would be preferable if it could be usable by both Iphone and Ipod Touch.
I wish I had an app that would pull more fields from facebook than just birthdays and photos. A simple summary of where each of my friends live along with where they work would be useful in my job search. Thanks for asking a great question!
School closings and delays due to inclement weather (e.g. snow and ice) would be great. It would be faster and more convenient, at least for me, than checking the local radio/tv website. An app would also be easier for kids to use.
Easily a blackberry messenger app that could communicate with blackberry owners. I would be willing to pay $10-20 for this. From what I’ve been lead to believe, this could only come from RIM though…
I would love to see a medical records app-I have multiple doctors for multiple problems and would love something at my fingertips to be able to maximize my time with them. Thanks for an interesting article and wonderful service you provide!
Well, speaking of dream, Tylenol have an app called Sleep Tracker. I would like to see that integrated with calendar – just replicating the same info in the calendar for personal backup purpose in a good standard.
Or… It could be just another app that would do that! :P
Speech to text apps that work as well as googles voice search. Maybe offer keyboard OR speach input on everything.
A decent outliner – with tags. And batch processing, so that I can move lots of items from one level to another quickly.
I want a calendar app that lets you set reminders etc. BUT it needs to ring like a regular phone call and Call back after every 5 minutes until it is answered. When you answer a window appears with the appointment reminder.
My last smart phone did that and worked great. An email or text message is of no use. The single tiny dings are not ever heard.
I need it to manage my meds and diabetes tests etc. It is the MOST important app I need and it is not out there any where.
It makes me sorry that I have an i phone. I’ll have to ditch it as soon as my contract is up.
