I want one. Ambient Clock has the cool factor – It is a new clock design (not yet manufactured) that syncs with Google Calendar.
Eager to try it out? No problem. It has an online version now for your Google Personalized Homepage where you can try it out now online. Now that’s an innovation – develop a web application to test for a real product market.
If you like the design, tell them about it so they know they have a market from us. :)
Thanks Ernie for passing the news!

I would definitely like to see a few more buttons for checking the next 12 hours or the next day. Or make it a 24 hour clock!
Maybe a square that pops up to tell you what you have blocked out in that slice of cheese they display.
I love the idea of these little services like the digital picture frames that link across the net to help you automate your life!
I know this sounds weird, but I don’t know if I trust Ambient to my personal data. Sure, Google has my personal data, but I can keep a secure HTTPS connection to that. So at least I know only Google and I have that data. Does this clock support HTTPS? It says it uses the nationwide Ambient network… huh?
I’d much prefer a WiFi version. The idea and design is awesome.

The problem with WiFi is that it draws far too much power to build something that you can stick on the fridge. As I undertand it, the Ambient stuff doesn’t draw anywhere near as much power.
And you have to explicitly grant access for Ambient to have access to the data that’s currently in Google.
Is anyone else having trouble following the link? I’ve checked it a couple of times and all I see is text on top of text.

I had a nice 2″ analog clock on my Screen and I lost it. I want Google as my search engine.
