7 Ways to Avoid Pointless Meetings

Ben Yoskovitz, from the Instigator Blog, has a great list of ways to avoid pointless meetings. If you find yourself not wanting to avoid pointless meetings, you should read this book. If you do want to avoid them, read Ben’s post instead:
- Make sure the meeting has a clear purpose.
- Avoid suspense.
- Document what’s going on.
- Avoid distractions.
- Have an agenda.
- Avoid regular meetings if there’s no agenda
- Schedule something critical right after.

I don’t like meetings, especially if it’s a regular meeting with no agenda. It’s such a waste of time. It would be better if the time allocated for that meeting would be spent for a more productive work.

I also have the same perspective about meetings like what John said. I don’t like to spend time doing nothing in those pointless meetings. It’s better if I work with something on my worklist.
