Swift recovery after exercise is important especially regular training during the week. For me, I only know stretching after exercise will help reduce muscle stiff and post-carbohydrate drink will help recovery. A blog called Uncommon Body gives me 10 more ways to increase the recovery rate:
- Take a post workout shake
- Take a contrast bath after training
- Do not drop carbohydrate intake too low
- Take naps
- Sleep eight to ten hours a night
- Stretch on your off days
- Avoid stress
- Get a massage at least once a week
- Do recovery workouts
- Take a week off

I find I make the quickest recovery when I sit in the spa after a work out.

The source of this article is a blatant content thief. Most of what is on their site copies word for word from others without giving attibution.
The lastest article (Oct. 7/06) titled, “Top 25 Rules of Running” was lifted from Runner’s World Magazine and, only after several people complained did this blog’s failure to give attibution to ANYTHING, did they list the source. Even then, they only stated the source in text and did not provide the original LINK like you did in this post.
I’m disgusted with them.
Thanks for listening.

update: after several people complained about the content theft on this blog, the publisher has disable comments but continues on his/her merry thieving ways.
