64 Interview Answers You Should Know
Although your next job interview won’t have as many as 64 questions, your would-be employer will almost certainly ask at least one of these.
Tell me about yourself.
TRAPS: Beware, about 80% of all interviews begin with this “innocent” question. Many candidates, unprepared for the question, skewer themselves by rambling, recapping their life story, delving into ancient work history or personal matters.
BEST ANSWER: Start with the present and tell why you are well qualified for the position. Remember that the key to all-successful interviewing is to match your qualifications to what the interviewer is looking for. In other words you must sell what the buyer is buying. This is the single most important strategy in job hunting.

I was appalled at some of the strategies for answering these questions. I felt that the premise was that you could only get the job by lying about yourself, at the very least being less than completely honest, which seems like a good recipe for a mis-match. I’m sure you’ll respond with something like “these techniques are about presenting yourself in a good light, so as not to disqualify yourself early”, but really, if you can’t be honest with your employer, how can you ever be sure that the two of you will get along?
