Generally, I think this many tips on writing strategies is too much. However, I like lists like this because, depending on what kind of writing you actually do, you can choose the tips that suit your work and adapt.

Now Poynter Online has accompanying all those 50 tips into audio to drum in the point, and you should be able to get some good ideas from reading through the 50 points, like:
