In Google Labs, they recently added new idea - “Personalize Your Homepage”. You can add stuff under the normal Google search box:

GasBuddy + Google Maps = a interactive map with gas prices! Engineers over ahding.com came up with a pretty good idea on finding gas price around your area. Choose Regular or Diesel Fuel, then choose your state and city. Voila!
